Will I be able to keep my own primary physician when I am a resident?
Many doctors follow their own patients at Fairmont Rehabilitation Center. Those doctors who do not make visits to nursing homes often have colleagues to whom they refer nursing home residents. The facility also has a list of those physicians who make visits to the center. Our Medical Director is also available for consultation in selecting an appropriate physician. You are also free to have a family member take you to your doctor’s office for appointments if he or she does not come to the nursing facility.

Are private rooms available at Fairmont?

Yes, both private and semi-private accommodations are available at our facility.

May I bring my own furniture and decorations for my room at the center?
Residents are encouraged to personalize their living spaces. Please check first with the Administrator though before bringing in furniture items so that we can be sure that they will fit in the room safely. If you bring in any electrical appliances, such as a radio, it must first be checked by the Maintenance department to make sure it is in safe working condition.

Does Fairmont Rehabilitation Center offer any specialized healthcare services?
In addition to the quality clinical services offered to all its residents, Fairmont specializes in long and short-term skilled nursing care, rehabilitation services, hospice care, respite services, and wound care.

What types of therapy are offered at Fairmont?
Fairmont is very fortunate to have a dedicated team of Physical, Occupational, and Speech therapists. Under the guidance of the resident’s physician, our therapists are an essential part of the facility’s clinical team and they work to help all residents involved in the therapy program to reach their highest level of independence.

Will I be able to enjoy my favorite foods while I am a resident?
Of course! Our Food Service Manager completes a food preference assessment with each new resident to learn about his or her preferences. Individual food preferences will be taken into account when a resident’s food plan is established as part of the person’s physician-directed dietary orders. Residents always have a replacement choice if the meal’s entrée is not to their liking. Family members may bring special food for a resident if it is in accordance with the doctor’s dietary orders and is cleared first with the Nursing department.

What types of adult activities are available for the center’s residents?
A variety of adult recreational activities are available to the residents of Fairmont Rehabilitation Center. From relaxing individual pursuits to group exercise classes, discussion groups, board games, pet visits, and enjoying the center’s Wii Gaming System, something is always happening at Fairmont! We provide opportunities for our residents to experience pastimes they have enjoyed all their lives, but also to learn new skills and try new leisure pursuits. Our residents always have a say in the type of activities offered, so Fairmont is able to offer many different ways to enrich the lives of those in our facility community.

Outside excursions are encouraged for those who are medically able to undertake them. We believe that fresh air, family, and friends are good for the soul! You may make arrangements for outside trips by contacting the head nurse on your loved one's unit.

Will my loved ones be able to visit me at Fairmont at times convenient to them?
